A frontier hunting card game from a mountain family in Jasper, Colorado
A family project that started around a kitchen table in the Colorado mountains.
Hunts Wild was born in Jasper, Colorado, a mountain community where elk outnumber people and the frontier spirit is just part of everyday life. Since 2007, the Wolcott family has been building, testing, and refining this game around campfires, in hunting cabins, and across kitchen tables in the Colorado high country.
Every card features original artwork rendered in the tradition of 1900s frontier engravings. That level of craft and attention to detail shows in every card.
The game reflects the real experience of a Colorado hunting season: tracking grouse through the aspens, glassing for elk in the high country, dealing with nightfall and bad weather, keeping your license in order, and making sure you’ve got the right ammunition for the game you’re pursuing.
A rare card game built around the hunting tradition, not as a novelty, but as the foundation for genuinely great gameplay. The mechanics are proven through nearly 20 years of play-testing and refinement.
Hunts Wild is a family business rooted in a real place. When you buy a deck, you’re supporting a real family in a real mountain town. That’s the kind of story behind the product that we think matters.
Looking for a gift that a hunter will actually use? Hunts Wild is a unique gift that gets pulled out at every hunting camp, every cabin night, every family gathering. Screen-free entertainment that brings people together.
At $25 a deck, it’s an easy stocking stuffer that punches way above its price. The Double Pack ($45) lets you gift one and keep one. It’s the kind of gift people remember, because they’ll play it for years.
Hunters have long been among the strongest advocates for conservation and wildlife management. Hunts Wild reflects that tradition. The game teaches respect for wildlife through its mechanics: bag limits, hunting licenses, species identification, and ethical pursuit. It’s a natural fit for introducing the next generation to the outdoor heritage that sustains wild places.
Five trophy species hunted in order (Grouse, Rabbit, Deer, Elk, Bear), each with realistic bag limits. Trouble cards that mirror real hunting challenges: nightfall, bad weather, getting lost, running out of ammunition, and license trouble. Good Fortune and Safe cards that reward preparation and strategy. And the Wild card, a Mountain Lion that lets you steal a trophy from a rival hunter. Simple enough for kids, strategic enough for adults.
